Posted about 1 year ago
Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor recently hailed their group's upcoming tour as possibly one of the best ever. Reznor exalted his group, or this version of Nine Inch Nails,in a blog drenched in much praise and enthusiasm for his comrades. Excerpts from the group's official web site below:"I am proud to announce the final personnel lineup of NINE INCH NAILS for the foreseeable future. We've added, we've subtracted and we've wound up with unquestionably the strongest lineup I've EVER had. Joining me onstage will be Robin Finck(Guns N' Roses), Alessandro Cortini(Modwheelmood.), Josh Freese(The Vandals, Devo, Viva Death, A Perfect Circle and ASHES dIVIDE) and Justin Meldal-Johnson(Beck)."??The New & Improved NIN??"We've been working on something really special for these shows and so far I couldn't be happier with the results. We'll be revealing some live performances shortly here on nin.com — in the meantime, we've posted some photos from rehearsals up on "Flickr HERE":FL.??Rez' belting 'em out??"Meanwhile, I assume some of you may not be entirely familiar with the acts I've chosen to join us on various legs of this tour, so we've compiled a sampler EP for you. 1. Anna says Good for him, and for me {if I see NIN live, that is}. "Take that Radiohead." Yeah, I always said that if someone was to bring the music biz down, it would be Reznor and not Yorke, and not because he's louder.

  5. Sturgell says Anna, It is interesting to see them both working for practically the same goal, their different approaches and discourse. Lyrikhan, This is something you gotta hook us up a concert review for(PA-lease). Yep Pirate, JMJ! heh. In the flesh. That's what they say at least ??could be a robot??. Sam, The guy himself says this lineup is 'the best ever' which is a pretty damn tall order and almost kind of offensive when you think of all the other people who've been in that band. NIN has been around for a while, what is it like, pushing 20 years now?

  6. PopeyePete says I remember going to see NIN back in 1994. Awesome concert. Cool to hear this news on the current lineup!

  7. Lamicus says You know, I'm not even much of a fan of NiN anymore, but I keep collecting everything that Reznor puts out. I wish I knew why, other than perhaps habit. Even though I'm not a uge fan of this kind of music anymore, I guess I still admire the guy, and by downloading all the stuff he gives us, I'm sticking it to the man in a somewhat legal fashion. Good on ya, Trent.

  11. Lighter Dusk says I gotta say, the trend of giving out "loss-leader" tracks for free on the net, with the hopes that it will lead at least some to buy other albums by the artist is brilliant...not exactly ahead of it's time, more like adapting to the times... ...plus, it's gotta piss off/confuse the RIAA -Dusk

  12. Konkrypton says Heck, Reznor's even made ME a fan (I'm 47, kinda an old fart). I notice there's a band member who has been in Devo?! How old is he?

  13. Lighter Dusk says He's actually only 35. He's been with Devo since '95 or so if I remember right...he's not of the original line up, I'm pretty sure his first song with them was on the Tank Girl soundtrack (if you remember that mess of a movie) but I'm not certain... -Dusk
