Posted about 1 year ago
A Los Angeles judge on Thursday set a September date for pioneering rock producer Phil Spector's second trial on charges that he murdered actress Lana Clarkson in the foyer of his mock castle in 2003.Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Larry Fidler ordered Spector to stand trial beginning on September 29 in the high-profile case. The jury in Spector's first trial deadlocked 10-2 in favor of a guilty verdict in September 2007, forcing Fidler to declare a mistrial, but prosecutors immediately said they would bring the case again."YAHOO!":CH[CH]http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080522/music_nm/spector_trial_dc

  1. Baudolino says FIVE FUCKING YEARS? For a case to decide whether one of the TWO people in a room killed the other one, or whether she killed herself? There are times when I despair over the future of the legal profession

  2. Augusts1 says Amazing this is still going on when there's so much more important issues going on that need the attention of the courts. Not that the murder isn't important but Spector's lawyers have just drawn this out way too long . . . .

  3. Robin Danar says the legal system was actually a pretty brilliant plan by a bunch of entrepreneurs a couple of hundred years ago. make the laws, set it up so there's this "democracy" thing where you get hired to take on each side of the case to be voted on by folks that have to skip work, take on the biggest paying "gigs" you can find and stretch them out, then get paid first no matter what the decision.
