Metallica Live In Los Angeles; Footage Available

Posted almost 4 years ago
Metallica took to the stage amidst resounding cheers last night (Wednesday, May 14) at Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles. Below, fan filmed footage of the sold out 2,200 seat venue. The clips gives us a good look at this much smaller, exclusive performance. I know what you're thinking (it's what most people think) 'come on Sturg, Metllica should have broken up 10-15-20 years ago, this post is lame.'OK SURE. You might have a point. But! I think when it's all said and done, Metallica is going to go down in history in a special place where the Dead and The Ramones. I find it impressive their command of the stage, and energy after all these years."Master of Puppets":"Battery":"Fight Fire With Fire" (with Flea):"Seek And Destroy":Setlist:01. Creeping Death 02. 4. Augusts1 says Maybe they should've broken up years ago(& surprised they didn't after the probs seen in the awesome doc about them) but they are a metal institution & they know it & still are pretty humble in spite of it all. I really like the bass player even though he's a relative newbie, he's such a cool guy. I'm not big into metal & don't even own any Metallica albums but do enjoy hearing their music from time to time & their doc was really fascinating. Besides, they're SF natives!

  7. mollifire says i'll be happy when they get back to the kind of metal that made them so great in the first place, i.e. pre-Justice For All. Word is that their next album will be old school HEAVY!

  14. Sturgell says I guess if it's laid out on the table like that: Metal up your ass or hammer smashed faces that smashing faces is less offensive. Guess it makes sense.

  23. RGM says Great set list! You know if they broke up they would have a million re-unions anyway. Thanks for the post, glad their still around.... BTW I heard Rob covered for Flea in the RHCP back in the 90's when he broke his arm. Heard that Rob played their songs better than Flea, if you can believe that...

  24. TylerDurden says how the hell? The PIMP holding his tongue! After all the stuff I hated about metallica's newest stuff (mainly take a load and reload it) -> THAT IS A FECKIN GREAT SETLIST -> All old school stuff that put them on the map -> wish I coulda been one of the 2,200 -> lucky bastards.
