Silverstein comes across as a uniquely creative guy with quite a personality. His kid song must connect with a certain age group, not an easy thing to do. This is the first time I've seen or heard him. Great clip.
Aiea48, what a coincidence: today I was seriously wondering if I could ever find out more about your comment's song, other than my vague memories of hearing it a few times on country radio in the mid-Seventies. I was imagining posting a description of it and hoping that some expert among my Trusteds would remember it. Eureka!
I look out for these "rough necks get cut down a peg" tunes like "The Bull of Bethel Street," and it leads to very interesting artists and recordings.
"Cordell Country" with Cordell Keith Haugen is/was a local release, but it looks like it's gone the way of Pure Heart (Hawaii) and George Street. (When a recording doesn't show up on a Google! search, I sometimes wonder if I imagined it, sigh.)

Long time no MOG..simple but effective Shel. Nice one.
I still show my face around these parts once in a while.
Speaking of Shel Silverstein, here's a cover by Cordell Keith Haugen about The Cost of Being The Local Bull Of The Bar:
