Hey Moggers,This Friday I've got an interview with Boots Riley, 1/2 of Oakland based hip hop group The Coup. We'll be meeting up before a gig here in the East Bay.
The Coup's style is a funky rap with a twist of soul and leftist overtures. Their '06 ??Pick a Bigger Weapon?? released via Epitaph generated a lot of buzz and two hhit singles. What's next? It's going to be interesting to get a sneek peek from Boots about what him and DJ Pam the Funkstress are up to.
If you haven't heard The Coup's latest, the singles "My Favorite Mutiny" "Laugh/Love/Fuck"it's are up over at Myspace:http://www.myspace.com/thecoupmusic What should I ask? Moggers?
