Album:A Very Silent Night
A single released in New Zealand exclusively for dogs is looking to go global on the heels of it's recent chart topping success. The track has been lauded for promoting animal rights and was also presented as a music video featuring New Zealand artist Dei Hamo. All this in spite of the fact nobody has actually heard the 'song'.The track entitled "??A Very Silent Night??" can not be heard by human ears and can only be heard by animals that can hear outside of the normal human range. The single was sold during December 2007 to raise funds for the Royal New Zealand Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).*It reached number one* on the 24th of December 2007 and became the New Zealand Christmas number one. The next week the song dropped from number 1 to number 16 in the chart.*A Very Silent Night Promo. Feat. Dei Hamo*??But what do the dogs think about it??"The most violent one was a dog that physically attacked the radio when it was played and went quite berserk and totally destroyed it," said Bob Kerridge, chief executive of animal welfare group, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA)."On the other side of the scale, they just lie down and did nothing." The charity CD, priced at NZ$4.99 ($3.93), contained an instrumental and a vocal version of the song, but Kerridge said he did not know what kind of music dogs would hear."Never having heard it myself, I don't know what they'll hear and of course I don't know how dogs hear music," he said."More Here":CH[CH]http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080218/music_nm/newzealand_dc
