Led Zepplin Bassist Has "Absolutely No Idea" What's Next

Posted about 1 year ago
The last time Page, Plant and John Paul Jones performed together was nearly two decades ago, that was before last December's monumental Led Sepplin reunion show London, where the trio was joined by late Zepplin drummer John Bonham's son Jason behind the kit. But many have been asking, "what next?"Zepp's bassist John Paul Jones has said that the band have "no idea" about what their future plans might be. Speaking at BBC Radio 2's annual Folk Awards in London last night (February 4), the bass player couldn't confirm any further recent tour rumors.??John Paul Jones??Asked if they had spoken to each other, he told the BBC, "I am obliged to say we have and we have absolutely no idea of what we are going to be doing."Guitarist Jimmy Page said at a January 28 press conference in Tokyo, Japan that the group was "musically ready" to go on a world tour, although the earliest that was likely to happen was September. According to Yahoo! News, Page said that the band's intense rehearsals for its reunion show at London's O2 Arena in December were "what you would normally put into a world tour anyway." But Page added that frontman Robert Plant "has a parallel project running, and he's really busy with that project, certainly until September. So I can't give you any news on anything at the moment."??Jimmy Page??Page was in Japan to promote the Zepplin retrospective collection ??Mothership??, which arrived in the U.S. late last year. Meanwhile, Plant was interviewed by MSG TV on January 25 during the halftime break of the Knicks and Sixers game at New York City's Madison Square Garden. When asked about the possibility of a full Zepplin reunion tour, he responded, "You never know what is around the corner."??Robert Plant With Alison Krauss??Plant is currently involved in a series of live shows around the world with singer Alison Krauss, with whom he recorded the recently released ??Raising Sand??. ??What are the chances of a full runion/world tour? One will just have to stay tuned!??http://www.ledzeppelin.com/
