New Radiohead Film Features Every Song From In Rainbows Watch It Now!

Posted about 1 year ago
Radiohead have outdone themselves again. Over the New Year's, the group released a film called "Scotch Mist" which features the group performing every track from ??In Rainbows??. The film can be viewed below. "As previously reported":PR, the "physical manifestation" of ??In Rainbows?? is currently available in stores worldwide. For two months the album was available only online, as a direct from the artist venture.A "Scotch Mist" is a coarse, dense mist, like fine rain. Also,The market research firm Comscore wrote an interesting review of the band's decision to skirt the record labels and to allow fans to pay what they please. Overall the company believes that the revenue results have been too optimistic citing that "only 38% of downloaders may have paid for the ??In Rainbows?? record," the company reported.Comscore found that nearly 1.2 million people visited Radiohead’s website during the first 29 days of October and, while Comscore cannot exactly say how many of those visitors actually downloaded the album, it is believed that a “significant” portion of that number ended up saving the music to their hard drives. "Across all downloads, the average number per album was $2.26 ($3.23 from U.S. users and $1.68 from non-U.S. users)" Comscore reported."These numbers add up to about $2.7 million in total sales, if we assume that all 1.2 million visitors downloaded the album. That doesn’t sound much, but, in the end, Radiohead does not have to pay any fees to a record label either" the company said("MORE HERE":CH)http://www.Radiohead.com[CH]http://www.tgdaily.com/content/view/34737/118/[PR]http://mog.com/Sturgell/blog_post/133274

  8. zarpex says I liked Radiohead a lot better when they put some effort into their stuff, instead of this lazy, tuneless, artsy stuff. Everything since ??OK Computer?? sounds the same to me. I don't really mind all the angst and despair, I just miss those ??songs?? they used to come up with. When they became ultra-cool ten years ago, it was no longer necessary for Radiohead to go to the (very great) trouble of writing ingenious songs in order to sell albums. Breaks my heart, though. Even if I could sell millions of records without writing anything as majestic as "Paranoid Android" or "Just," I'd write them anyway, or ??try?? - just so there'd be more songs like that in the world. I must remember to write a post about their descent into formlessness... But I'm being rather rude and ungrateful, both to the band (who at least have the class to give their stuff away) and to you, Sturgell. Thanks for the video, and sorry for griping.

  9. TylerDurden says Zarpex...I agree on the lack of effort, but with more heroin comes less attempt to actually think

  13. chandlersford says One of my friends sent round a question on facebook asking what people thought was a fair price to pay for the release. My reply was 'You mean you are paying them?' I was right. Naval gazing, introspective, self indulgent and ultimately not even an original idea to let the people decide what to pay (Stolen from a conversation with the management of The Charlatans) They were a breath of fresh air when they hit the scene. Clearly a product of the Oxford science and geography student scene who regularly gathered at the elm tree or zodiac to watch paint dry while most bands of that time had the stage craft of an electrician changing a plug. They were 'real' musicians albeit Pink Floyd fans who stole the head wobble from early David Grey (When he was a punk). Then the industry got'em - they became lazy and relied heavily on 'interesting' media experiments rather than writing some more tunes. Still, as boring as it is (With some lovely moments that could have made it through to become great songs) it's still better than most of the crap around - is that a good thing? Dunno
