Cleveland based transgender singer- songwriter Baby Dee has announced her latest work entitled ??Safe Inside The Day??, an album which the artist explains "is very much about the street she grew up on." Baby Dee left for New York in 1972 and eventually became a musician; she played in the church and in the streets and then stopped altogether. Thirty years later she found herself back in Cleveland and began to write songs.??Safe Inside The Day?? was produced in part by Bonnie 'Prince' Billy (AKA Will Oldham & Palace Music). Bonnie has received a considerable amount of critical praise for his DIY approach and ability to transcend his commonly given labels of Americana, folk, roots, country, punk, and indie rock to create something uniquely his own. Bonnie Billy also played on the record, along with Andrew WK, Robbie Lee, Max Moston (Antony and the Johnsons), Bill Breeze (Psychic TV), John Contreras (Current 93), James Lo (Chavez) and Lia Kessel.Regarding Dee's style and discourse, Antony, of Antony and the Johnsons, has been quoted as saying her music is "intensely personal, yet coded in universal metaphors, revealing her deepest psychic movements."
