All four members of Blur reunited this week (October 1) for the first time in several years after an extended hiatus, the band have announced. In early 2002, Blur temporarily broke their hiatus to record a song that would be played for the European Space Agency's Mars Lander, however, the plan fell through when the lander was lost. The group's site issued the following on their website, after meeting to discuss future plans over lunch. "Alex (James, bass), Damon (Albarn, vocals), Dave (Rowntree, drums) and Graham met for an enjoyable lunch on Monday".
Their most recent release was in 2003, ??Think Tank??(Parlophone/Virgin), which was a change from their pop sound to a more "brooding, atmospheric, heavy electronic sound." Many cite ??Think Tank?? as a testament to both Damon Albarn's increasing interest in electronica and his control over the group's creative direction.Damon Albarn has since gone onto acclaim with his projects Gorillaz and The Good, The Bad & The Queen. Graham Coxon is a successful solo artists while the other members have filled the band's current hiatus venturing into careers in politics, writing and farming alongside music.http://www.blur.co.uk/site.html
