Bright Eyes performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra Saturday night(September 29) at the Hollywood Bowl. Opening the night Yo La Tengo, M. Ward who reportedly warmed the crowd up with "strong sets," reported NME.The 90-minute set previewed a new protest song called "What Good Are You", on which Sleater-Kinney's Janet Weiss played maracas.Reportedly, Oberst looked casual with a black shirt and jeans, as did the usually formally attired Philharmonic who donned street clothes for the occasion.Performing "Bowl Of Oranges" from ??Lifted or The Story Is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground??"Hot Knives" from his album ??Cassadaga??
