Kurt Cobain Memorial Show This Weekend

Punk and grunge rock bands from the Northwest will each perform a different Nirvana song at a benefit concert Saturday (September 15) in Hoquiam, Washington for a Kurt Cobain memorial.The Aberdeen native led Nirvana to international fame. He took his life in Seattle in 1994 at the age of 27The all-ages concert will feature Jed, a successful Aberdeen- and Olympia-based rock band formed more than a decade ago. JED recently recorded an album with Jack Endino, the producer of Nirvana's first album, ??Bleach??.
Other bands booked for the concert include The Whore Moans, a Seattle-based punk rock band that performed at Bumbershoot earlier this month; Don't Even Know, a Seattle-based punk rock band that was part of the Warped Tour; Black Top Demon, which recently performed a well-attended impromptu show under "Kurt's" bridge in North Aberdeen; The Bimm Quaid, a Raymond-based rock band and Clouded Minds, a teen band from Aberdeen that cites Cobain as an influence.http://www.myspace.com/kurtmemorial
