Back Briefly, But Only to Share Some Very Sad News
Peter Christopherson is dead.
It always seems so strange to be nothing but a fan of someone's music and to feel a desire to mourn over distance.
I really am about to cry, though.
TG, Coil and Threshold have come to mean so much to me in my short adult years. I started listening to Coil obsessively through college and developed an unnatural attachment to Threshold after my partner died. Sleazy had a sense of sound that very few on earth have- transcending the soul-less mechanical and spiritual. You hear it so clearly in everything produced under Threshold, if you didn't hear it in Coil or TG.
I just can't believe it's over. A corner of my headspace just went silent- there will be no more music issued from his genius.
Though I don't believe in much of an afterlife- if there is a place where his consciousness still resonates, may it be somewhere where he is happy.
Rest in peace, good sir.
