Introducing Miss Bertie Blackman

Posted over 4 years ago
I was introduced to Bertie Blackman by my boyfriend on the first sleep over we had almost a year ago and I fell in love... with Bertie! Her first album is jazzy and sweet but her most recent 'Black' has a harder more rock edge to it. She is a five foot nothing platinum blonde dynamo with so much energy in her live gigs. This is her myspace http://www.myspace.com/bertieblackmanthe band lists their influences as Radiohead, The Clash, Blondie, Johnny Cash, PJ Harvey, The White Stripes, Queens of the Stone Age, The Beatles, Alan Parsons Project, The Sex Pistols, death cab for cutie, nirvanaI would recommend you have a listen and see what you think.??Why don't you love me?????Cause I watch TV just like everyone????And you, read magazines like everyone????And truth seems to be defined in every pop song????And love, I know it hurts you, and it sure hurts me too??

  1. dachmo says I'm real glad your posting on bands from around your way. Australia doesn't seem to be well represented here. I can only think of two others. She's got a great voice, thanks again!

  11. Strawberry Street says Different accents! No to be honest I'm not overly familiar with much NZ rock, appart from the obvious, crowded house etc
