It's a new month for Yoko Kanno posts and that means...no theme. Absolutely none at all. I'm just going to post two good songs every week. Posting all that Cowboy Bebop made me a little tired of it, so I decided not to do that for another set of soundtracks I like. So, the randomness begins with a track from the anime series Escaflowne. The music from this show is really different from that of Cowboy Bebop. It is mostly classical and orchestral in nature. With many parts of the score performed by the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus, the music from Escaflowne has a soaring, epic feel to it. Also, like Cowboy Bebop, the show lives up to the greatness of the music.The track I picked from Escaflowne is called “Dance Of Curse” and it's a piece that is repeated throughout the series. I have to admit that if I'm in a particularly good mood when I hear this song, I'll sing along with the chorus: “Esca! Flow-nay!”I haven't yet figured out what I'm posting on Thursday. However, I may post another Escaflowne track soon...one that Yoko Kanno didn't compose.
