Christmas Every Other Day: "Back Door Santa"

Posted over 4 years ago
The store I work at has Muzak and ever since Black Friday (aka the day after Thanksgiving), the Muzak has been on the holiday channel. I happen to like this channel, even if some of the music isn't all that great (there was a rendition of "Christmas Time Is Here" that was just mind numbingly tired). However, many of the people I work with (all of whom are younger than me) despise the holiday channel and in some cases, Christmas music in general. The youngest of the managers (who is, again, younger than me) routinely changes from the holiday station as soon as the store manager leaves. This leaves me to wonder...is Christmas music really an "old" person thing (or maybe a "kid" thing)? You'll be lucky to hear anything Christmas on a station catering to teens but here in the Chicago area, the adult-contemporary radio station WLIT famously airs nothing but Christmas music for weeks every holiday season. There hasn't been a point in my life where I haven't loved Christmas music. My birthday is Christmas Eve so maybe that's why I still like Christmas music in my (soon-to-be late) 20's.Speaking of which, here's a fun Christmas song from Clarence "Strokin'" Carter:

  1. brittanybf says I am so, so, so sorry you have to listen to holiday Muzak! That's like 2 of my least faves combined into one.
