I've known about this issue for a while, and I figured it might be provocative to post on MOG; seems like a MOG sorta post, and I haven't seen it on here yet (forgive me if I missed it). And it's an oh-so-rare opportunity for me to embed some Youtube action. It seems somewhat plain as day that a chiptune composition called "Acid Jazzed Evening," written for an Amiga MOD (and winner of a competition for songs in said format), was used by Timbaland without permission in a song by Nelly Furtado called "Do It." From the original author's own words, the story of "Acid Jazzed Evening" - note that he claims to be seeing lawyers, and that he also does not mention by name Timbaland, nor Nelly Furtado, nor the song (the lawyers probably told him not to). Here's one of those 2-minute documentaries that YouTube has made so popular comparing the two songs. I recommend downloading the original song from the above link, though, but that's just 'cause I like it.Meanwhile, let's not forget that Timbaland can be terribly lovable, and two clips of Tim in the studio prove it. Here he is with the inimitable Busta Rhymes:And you know who this is:
