Jinx?

Okay, so I didn't write about Philip Glass. Maybe I jinxed it. So I won't jinx what will hopefully be the topic of my next post; I'll possibly get around to it today. (Now I've jinxed it, haven't I.)
Less pressing matters, though. If we can be thankful for Pitchfork, it's for continuing to cover Max Tundra despite his lack of Radiohead-level (or U2-level, or Oasis-level, or even M.I.A.-level) popularity.

Max Tundra is my currently working hero. I'll say it again. Max Tundra is my currently working hero. Please listen to this remix of Jensen Sportag's "Cocktease." The original is a good song, and he just improves it, significantly, by doing exactly what he does. The turn about 2/3 in when he abandons the original completely for his own bridge, and then takes it back with the vocal just at the right place... Max is probably the next Cornelius when it comes to making remixes his own. If he gets any hits out there someday, an ambition he hasn't hidden, the greater world shall be improved. As it is, we might just wait for his impending remix compilation.
I'm seeing Max in April in SF; exciting. (His fandom of Jensen Sportag, as recounted at the link, makes me convinced I should go listen to them, as well.)

I love Max Tundra. You know I do. But I heard his live set on WFMU last month and... I don't want to call it atrocious... but I hope he at least has some visual accompaniment.
I dunno, I saw some Youtube. It was alright. He definitely doesn't have visuals. I just wanna hang out with him (so to speak) and have his music blasting over a live PA. It doesn't seem like the type of set that benefits from being present as audio-only. Not really live album material.
