It's been a while since I've posted anything here, but I'm back.
I'm happy to announce that my humble little record label has undergone a nice little makeover with a new web site: http://www.selfrighteous.ca - check t out, download some new (some exclusive) MP3s from such artists as Himalayan Bear, The Lonesome Valley Singers, Meatdraw and Amy Honey. In other news, all of our new releases are available for purchase online, or if you want to do some footwork you can pick them up and any decent record store throughout Canada (if they don't have them ask the to order copies through Scratch Distro).
This track is from an upcoming compilation due out this October. It's the follow up to last years' Cavalcade Of The Scars - Carolyn Mark doing a strange Les Baxter-eque cover of a Run Chico Run song. Good stuff.

Just curious about what kind of movie soundtracks people really like. I think most are terrible, but there's some that just make for great albums on their own. Pump Up The Volume is an example of that. That was really the first movie that I actaully watched just for the soundtrack.
One of my favourites would have to be the soundtrack to Big Bad Love. If you make a movie and you have both RL Burnside (RIP) & T-Model Ford - You're pretty much rockin'. It's a fine film as well.
Here's the Tracklist & Trailer
1. Boxcar Blues - Kenny Brown
2. I Love You - Asie Payton
3. Come On In (Live) - R.L. Burnside
4. She Asked Me So I Told Her - T-Model Ford
5. My Baby's Gone - Robert Belfour
6. Sleepwalkin' - Tom Verlaine
7. Everything Is Broken - R.L. Burnside
8. Junior's Place - Junior Kimbrough
9. Long Way Home - Tom Waits
10. Goodbye - Steve Earle
11. Spiritual - Tom Verlaine & Kronos Quartet
12. Jayne's Blue Wish - Tom Waits

That soundtrack just made my list, looks incredible and you are so right about R.L. As for me, my two favorite soundtracks are for Trainspotting and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Both I listed to all the time
I'm pretty partial to the Wicker Park soundtrack. Like Crow: City of Angels, the soundtrack is the only saving grace of the film.
Yeah - I think Both Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels & Snatch were great. I actually get the two mixed up pretty easily, probably because the movies were so similar.
Actually I Should have also mentioned The Sadies doing the SoundTrack for the Rat Fink movie.
Cool Video too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQj1fZdUQPQ&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fprofile%2Emyspace%2Ecom%2Findex%2Ecfm%3Ffuseaction%3Duser%2Eviewprofile%26friendid%3D13866406
This is from a short run solo album from Vic Ruggiero, most known for being the frontman of The Slackers, keys player for Rancid, plus numerous other ska/punk projects. This is very far from either, which really makes it stand out. Who'd ever have thought a guy from a ska band would be a great songwriter? The album as a whole is brilliant. I'd found it on Napster years ago and tried to track down a real copy for about a year until I met Vic a few summers ago. He was carrying a bunch of home made copies, most of them in cracked jewel cases... In a pillow Case. Odd little man. Great songs.
