Sometimes you just need powerful music to give you a boost of power of your own. Ferry Corsten's music is my personal drug of choice - hard driving beats and old-skool synthetic sound make for a real, beautiful kind of simplicity that is lost in today's materialistic music society. I don't know why, but it feels like, to me, the almost 'unsophisticated' repetition and obviously synthetic sound that Ferry is a true pioneer of brings me back to a level of primal melodic enjoyment that I just don't get in most other music. This north European man's music has always been one of my favorites to sit back and groove to. I was first introduced to his music vicariously through some demo tracks on the old, famed 'Fruityloops' software, which has long since become the far more sophisticated, and more boringly-named 'FL Studio'. At that time, his music was published under the name, System F, whom he still tours as here in Japan. To this day, I'm still searching in music stores for his 'Out of the Blue' album. If you haven't heard either of those names, you may yet have heard of him as 'Gouryella'. Regardless of the name, his music is still awesome. As with most of my musical tastes, he harkens from somewhere other than the States, which just serves to solidify my long-running theory that although the US has some of the most prolific artists in the world, the quality just isn't the same.
