    Wait for Me

I find myself often faced with music that I just feel I have no choice but to share with others. It's not that I don't think people already know about this, it's entirely possible that I was the last one to find out, but when I run into something that makes me sit up in my chair and open a blog I haven't touched in over a year, I think that says something.

I'm happy to say that for the first time in countable ages, I'm having a 'I should've been in bed hours ago' moment thanks to a piece of music. I think it's evident from a handful of my other blog posts that I'm a fan of innovation. I love music in its classic sense, but when someone takes one thing and makes something entirely different out of it, I applaud.

It's much the same with Amon Tobin, the artist in the post directly below this (and ages ago chronologically), where a musician challenges themselves to use 'found sounds' (for the uninitiated - found sounds are existing audio clips rearranged musically, at least in this context). Be it mapping it to one's midi controller, or fiddling around in Premiere, the end result is often something spectacular.

So, have you heard of Kutiman?

I hadn't, but I'm damn sure glad I did today.

In a manner of speaking, what we have here is very similar to the apparently popular Lasse Gjertsen, but much, much more complicated. It blows my mind to really contemplate the sheer amount of effort that I imagine goes into a work of art like this.

I have a feeling I'm going to be spending a lot of time on his website, and anyone else who loved this nearly as much as I did, I urge to take a look as well. You can find it at http://thru-you.com/#

Give some love to the artists who do it a little bit differently.

And one more for the road:
