Well, I figure my first post might as well be about my album, to get this out of the way. I recorded this in 2004 while in Bloomington, Indiana. The band was made up of mostly IU jazz musicians, and the playing is outstanding, I was very lucky to have all these guys play my music. Please listen to the tunes on this page or visit my "website":http://www.cameronmizell.com.If you like what you hear, you can buy my CD at numerous places online, such as "my site":http://www.cameronmizell.com/store.html or "CD Baby":http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/mizell/from/run6string or "iTunes":http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playListId=48817616&originStoreFront=143441, or you can do me a little favor and I'll send you a free CD. Here's what you do:Go to iTunes, create an iMix that uses at least 2 songs from my album and a bunch of other songs you like or think are similar, and forward me the email they send you once you publish the iMix (that way I know you created it and I will be able to check up on it). Once your iMix gets at least 25 ratings with an overall rating of 4 stars or better, I'll send you a CD, for free. It's easy. Here's how it helps me: iTunes does not give little artists like myself any front page space, and my album will probably never break the top 100 in any catagory, so nobody is going to accidentally run into it. However, iTunes, like Amazon.com or other online stores, has this whole "customers who bought this also bought this" section, so overtime my album gets linked to similar artists' albums. One way to do this is with the iMix. I realized this concept about a year ago, made a few, had my friends make a few, and every week I sell more music at iTunes, which is helping support my music career. So by you creating an iMix, my music will get linked to other people music, which allows for more discovery and ultimately more sales. Since there's no overhead with a digital sale, I can afford to send you a free CD!I'm really pushing to get more sales right now because I'm trying to record a new album, with my current group. My writing and playing have come a long way since I started doing funk and groove oriented jazz, and my current band is really, really funky. I can't wait to get it done and share it with everyone. Take care! - Cameron
