Opeth - Isolation Years

This song is one of the saddest songs I have ever heard, and I love it so much!
Generally, I love Opeth's huge dynamic which ranges from slow, aching songs like this, to explosive heaviness and eyeball-popping growling. I love it all!
This song, however, is the most heart-wrenching song I've heard. Maybe even more heart-wrenching than The Downward Sprial from Nine Inch Nails. The song is extremely expressive in many dimensions.
It gives great imagry to me, if I had the correct tools the paint, I would paint an interpretation of the last two lines. It would depict a beautiful beach in the sunset, and a wounded woman, collapsed on the sand, looking longingly onto an endless, cold ocean. She would be looking with eyes full of dispair, saying "I'll die alone".
Here are the lyrics:
There's a sense of longing in me
As I read Rosemary's letter
Her writing's honest
Can't forget the years she's lost
In isolation
She talks about her love
And as I read
"I'll die alone"
I know she was aching
There's a certain detail seen here
The pen must have slipped to the side
And left a stain
Next to his name
She knows he's gone
And isolation
Is all that would remain
"The wound in me is pouring out
To rest on a lover's shore"
I have a goal to somehow transcribe the guitars to piano and sing the lyrics. I think this will be the first song I try for this. Who knows how long until, or if this will happen. I guess I can just do my best!
