David Bowie, Gwen Stefani, Bonnie Raitt & More Donate Items To IMA Ebay Auction

David Bowie, Gwen Stefani, Ani DiFranco, Bonnie Raitt, The Indigo Girls and other awesome artists have all donated various memorabilia for a benefit auction to benefit The Institute for Musical Arts. The Ebay auction went live on International Women's Day, March 8th, and ends on April 14th. The Institute hopes to raise $150,000+ to fund the completion of a state-of-the-art recording studio at the IMA campus in Goshen, MA. HARP Mag had the scoop and published this letter from IMA founder and exec director, Ann Hackler:

Dear Friends of IMA,In January workers began building the two control rooms and isolation booths for the recording studio, the final phase of our half-million dollar barn conversion project. In order to have the studio done by the time the girls arrive for summer programs, we have initiated a capital campaign to raise $150,000. We hope each of you will help us reach this goal by participating in and letting your friends know about our upcoming eBay auction which begins March 8th (International Women's Day) and ends on April 14th (IMA co-founder June Milllington's 60th birthday) .Bonnie Raitt, Melissa Ferrick, Ani DiFranco, Teresa Trull, Erin McKeown and Dar Williams have all donated signed guitars, David Bowie has donated a signed leather jacket from The Hunger television series, there will be some great material from the FANNY archives, the Indigo Girls have contributed handwritten lyrics, and many other artists have contributed gear, memorabilia, CD's, photographs, books and artwork. Many well-known artists and writers have donated autographed merchandise to the auction, including Bonnie Raitt, The Indigo Girls, Gwen Stefani, David Bowie, Dar Williams, Melissa Ferrick, Cris Williamson, Ani DiFranco, Stefani's and Bowie's bass player Gail Ann Dorsey, drummers Terri Lyne Carrington and Allison Miller, and a gifted teenaged drummer named Caitlin Kalafus. Feminist author Jennifer Baumgardner is participating, as is Wolfe Video, Ladyslipper Music, and Vater Percussion. And, we'll also be auctioning some memorabilia from the 1960s-70s all-female rock band Fanny! Critically acclaimed Fanny guitarist June Millington is a co-founder of IMA.
