Track:A Cause des Garons [Tepr Remix]
I saw my second Yelle show last night and she rocked the house again. Her backing band of drummer Grand Marnier and electronic artist Tepr were off the chain. I guess in Montreal, we have few electropop heroines who sing en français, but everytime Yelle plays, you can tell its like coming home for her. Even though she's from France.
Well, even if you don't speak a word of French, Yelle is a force to be reckoned with. She is the appointed leader of the trend known as techtonic and her beats are a mix of 80s and Daft Punk. Even though she doesn't make an appearance, you can check out some techtonic dance moves in this clip for the Tepr remix of her hit remake of the 80s song "À Cause Des Garçons":
Here is her new single "Ce Jeu", which premiered today on Perez Hilton's site.
Edit: I forgot to mention, that at the first show, I was entranced. I could NOT believe it was her practically standing in front of us on the stage. Afterwards, she came out and I walked right past her. She then went to the front of the club and signed autographs! Me and all my friends got to meet her and get her autograph. She was so nice and full of energy and you could tell she has a lot of love for her fans. I just love that so much in a pop star.
Here's my ticket, signed by Yelle:

Below is my partner Max and the one and only Yelle!

i'm loving that new song and video. how many albums does she have?
She just has one, Pop Up, with a whole bunch of remixes as well.
i gotta get to checking that out! i prefer the less dancey electronic...the remixes might be too much for me. but is her album a good balance?
My favourite by her is a slow one, called "Amour du sol" which means Love of the floor (dancefloor).
thanks! that was yet another good one.
I have to say I am liking the remixes!
