MOG MOG

MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

Artist:
Track:
(124)

Ok, so i think it's probably about time i got grips with this whole post thing. It seems a bit stupid to be signed up to Mog and not really use it to it's full potential, and anyway, people like to read pointless stuff. Well that's the line i'm taking.

To start off with I thought i'd upload a cool song I recently found on a Gilles Peterson compilation album called "Gilles Peterson: Worldwide 3". It's a pretty cool CD with loads of chilled out electronica/soul type stuff on it which is really easy to listen to but also quite rewarding if you want to listen into it. The track's called 'Butterfly' by Henry Mancini (he's the guy who did all the music for The Pink Panther if you weren't sure). I'll let you for your own opinions of it.

So yeah, i don't really have anything else to say at this precise moment in time except to ask whether any of you more experienced Moggers have any tips on how to get the best out of the site. I look forward to hearing from you

Sandy :)

Tips from an experience mogger. Well, that is not me. I have only been doing this for about two weeks now. Here are a few things. Throw stuff out that hits you right. If people dig it, they will say so. If they don't, no worries, you will most likely just get moggosphere crickets. But do not fret, as you get more into it you will see that there is so much damn music out there that people are constantly throwing out it is just overwhelming and pointless to think you can absorb it all. You will just have to go with the eb and flow of what is catching you at the time. As you most likely know, music is all about timing. Have an open mind and I guarentee you will find some music from your "most trusted moggers" that you never saw coming. Buckle up.

Hehe, great stuff man. That's the kinda replies I was looking for. Oh, and you're lucky for seeing explosions in the sky. They so rarely come to the UK and I missed em when they were here a few months ago :(

EITS is awesome. It was a great show. It was the second time I was them. The first time was in a collage basement bar in rural Minnesota. Get this the show was free! It was before they made it as big as they are.

UK? You are in Stone Roses country. I am jealous. Oh and a pulled pint in and pub in the UK...jealous, I am jealous. Someday my friend...Someday.

Glad you liked my words of encouragemant.

i know this is an old post, i just ran across it and this site because of it because i was trying to find an example of this song for someone.

anyways, in case you never found out "butterfly" isn't by mancini, its by herbie hancock. if you haven't heard it yet, check the original out too.

the version you posted was on the Henry Mancini album "Symphonic Soul" which is a great record by the way!
