Records tend to lie around a while before I get to them and give them a proper listen. Last night it was Supergrass' turn and once again, they deliver. Since their very first record (which was a little too manic for me, but still good), these guys have put out one very-good-to-excellent after another, this being no exception. It's only nine tunes long, which is always preferable to a glutted 17 song disc where some songs are always gonna be lost, and their melodic sophistication continues to grow. I guess if you really liked the punky exuberance of their first disc, this might not seem like a good thing necessarily, but I love it. Kinda grandiose in its way but still fun.
