Saw Dengue Fever at Make Music Pasadena recently. It's the first time I've seen them live. Fun show, and I'd have to say I've never seen a band combine so many divergent styles into one unique sound without sounding forced or like some kind of plastic fabrication. Surf psychedelia fused with Asian-style pop is the closest I can come to relating their sound in the written word. The video below contains a few live clips and short interviews with lead singer Chhom Nimol (that's how she spells it) and guitarist Zac Holtzman. You'll notice a slight disparity between the questions I asked and the ones Nimol answered, but it was cool to talk with her anyway.
