WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Best Commercial Ever.

Posted over 2 years ago
So, I was reading an article the other day about this Sony commercial. I had seen it some time earlier, and again when I went to the British TV Advertising Awards thing at the Walker. It was the second to last commercial they played, just before commercial of the year. Such a great commercial it is, and then after it, to see some guy singing as he does all of these stunts, something as stupid as a beer commercial (I think thats what it was, at least)... Bah, it angers me..Anyways, as I was saying... I read an article analyzing why people liked it. It said the average viewer found it visually appealing, and that advertising people liked it because it was expensive and complicated. Expensive and complicated? THATS why they like it? I understand that it's expensive, and that it would probably take a lot of planning to shut down the whole city of San Francisco to pour some balls down the hills and all, but seriously... That can't be the only reason they like it. And even the fact that it's aesthetically pleasing... I mean, the first time I watched it, I noticed that it was rather pretty, but what I really liked about the whole thing is that it's simple and captivating, and, I don't know about anyone else, but it immediately reminded me of when I was a kid. I would have died with excitement and amusement had I been there, in person, to see that when I was like 6. Wouldn't anyone, even adults, be awfully giddy to see something like that? And, not only is the commercial itself great, but the accompanying song is, too.... And.. I don't have much else to say about it, other than the fact that... It's just friggin great (it's the song I tagged this entry with, in case you didn't already know).
