YOU CAN'T NOT GET NO SATISFACTION

Don't Get Sick!

Posted over 2 years ago
hey all!so, i'm really excited. lately i've been sick with the writer's common cold, and everyone who's ever played around with words knows that writer's block is a big pain in the ass. well, tonight while messing around with midi, i found a really cool melody. simple, but catchy none-the-less. it hints all-time qb somewhat, which is okay, but with anything i write, i have this fear that it might come out sounding too much like some of my influences, in this case a-t qb, so i try to avoid that scenario as much as possible. but to get back on to subject, to go along with the cool track, i started freewriting some ideas for lyrics to match. and whalah! right there and then God gave in to my plea and lifted the curse. now i've got the entire lyrical side of the song finished, which is good progression, considering the void due to writer's block. oh, and the song's called "Sunburnt." so yea, that was to be proud of. i know, this isn't really the diamond of interesting posts, but i just had to vent my happiness and satisfaction, and since i just started mogging, i thought this way to be most appropriate.
What's More?---so i've just come across this really cool band, King Crimson. they're a british progressive rock group, who's debut album of 1969, "In the Court of the Crimson King," is said to be a landmark in their genre's history. they're a really cool band, who's got a nice sound to match; i really encourage you to check out this album. so here's "Court of the Crimson King", the title track of the album. i hope you enjoy!-seth

  1. davesonic says Great album and a great track. Some other albums you'll want to check out are Starless And Bible Black (Mid 70's and my fav), Discipline (early 80's), Thrak(90's very guitar and drums driven) Each of these albums has a different incarnation of the group with the only constant being Robert Fripp (guitarist and band leader). Not to be a picky geek but the photo you have is of the group from the Larks Tongue/Bible Black era with Bill Bruford (former drummer for Yes) in the group. In The Court Of The Crimson King from their first album has the original lineup with Greg Lake on bass and vocals (he would later help form Emerson Lake and Palmer, another great band to check out) and the amazing Michael Gilles on drums. Here's something from the group you have pictured. Enjoy.

  2. Seth Roddy says thanks for the comment, and the save! lol. i've replaced the photo with the one with the original lineup, i wasn't really thinking about it and didn't realize the era's of the song and photo didn't match up. but anyways, i'm really going to dig deeper into this band, along with the albums you recommended (and also Emerson Lake, Palmer, and Yes); they've really caught my ear. oh, and thanks for the video! i totally dig it man!
