Soul singer Dee Dee Warwick Dies at 63
Article here from www.4dasoul.com ;
Dee Dee Warick was the sister to Dionne Warrick who had many hit songs such as, "Walk on By (1964), "I Say A Little Prayer" (1967) [Aretha Franklin has recorded this song too!]
Here is a song she recorded in the 1970s, "She Did Not Know"
I was unaware that Dionne had a sister and especially a sister that was a singer. I wonder how siblings who are in the music industry feel when one sibling eclipses the other in fame? We see this all the time. Examples - Michael Jackson and his entire family, Beyonce and her sister, Solange, Jessica Simpson and Ashlee Simpson, Britney Spears & Jamie Lynn Spears. I don't know if they view each other as competition or do they try to support one another? In the end it should be unconditional love and support for each other which I am sure it is, I hope!
I'm praying for the Warrick family.

I heard some Dee Dee Warwick songs back in the day. I suppose they get used to being eclipsed, though it must hurt. That is an early age to leave us - shocking.
Horrible news....
R.I.P. Dee Dee
Sorry to hear she died a year or two older than I am. I love this single of hers from 1969, "Foolish Fool."
I ,too was sorry to hear of her passing since she was a younger sister.Her recordings are long overdue . I'm sure you know that her cousin Cissy Houston and Whitney are a close family.
the obits just keep coming lately. sorry to hear about Dee Dee...
Not heard of her or this song. She has a pretty soulful voice too. I like her style/voice better than Dionne's any day. Sorry to hear she passed.
@jonh - yes, too young to die. You raise a good point about siblings being eclipsed by the other *they get used to it.* So true but I know they are disappointed :/
@mrfrost agreed! RIP Dee Dee
@spike thank you for the song clip. I can't get it to play :/ Ugh. will try again!
@cpetersonart3 thank you for reminding me (and all of us)of the music family connection.
@mollfire - it's as if an entire musical generation is just dying :/ Waah. I'm trying to see as many of the legendary singers before they die! Terrible for me to say that but I want to see them live!
@augusts1 I love your honesty! Thank you for sharing!
