WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

PLEASE GOOOOOO and see Disney's The Lion King or get the CD!

I've been blessed to see the musical twice on Broadway. If you haven't seen it, please GO. It's a traveling production. It's one of the most amazing experiences I have EVER had in musical theater and I have seen A LOT of musical productions on Broadway. What makes this stand out is stellar music, fantastic acting. unbelievable puppeteering (Julie Taymor's work is mind blowing!!). It's an experience that I hope all of you are able to have.

Since I am totally obsessed with this production, I bought the Original Broadway Recording of the CD when it first came out and it is one CD that I do keep in rotation.

See here: Amazon.com: The Lion King (1997 Original Broadway Cast): Elton John, Tim Rice, Heather Headley, Mark Mancina: Music

By the grace of youtube, you can hear some of the recordings but again, I highly urge you to buy the CD or see the theatrical production.

What I love is that I have been listening to, "The Circle of Life" song in various languages via youtube. And, everytime I hear it, I have the same gut wrenching inspirational feeling that I can do ANYTHING.

Circle of Life [Japanese Version]

Circe of Life [French Version]

    SerenityLife,

I went to see the film with the music and have seen the same in Omaha close to where I live. You are very spot on about raving over the musical. I think everything works better on stage. The film is a bit claustrophobic but very well done. Glad to see you got to see this wonderful musical!

    Yours truly, musikfriend

So glad to see you, musikfriend!! xoxo I appreciate that you saw the film. Wow, it was in Omaha too. I'm so glad the show is traveling. It's one of the best music productions. Julie Taymor is a master puppeteer. I saw something on TV about her training and was so fascinated by her work.

    Big hugs, musikfriend xoxo

I saw a production of the Lion King in Toronto in 2003 and tears were streaming down my face, it was that good. A framed poster from the show takes centre stage at my house! Long live the Lion King!!

I was a theatre major in college and I performed children's puppet shows as part of my first job, so I have a huge appreciation for big-scale puppetry. This year I saw "Warhorse," not a musical, but it had amazing larger-than-life animal puppets. But I love the story of Lion King, it has that real legendary quality about it, and the music from the soundtrack is fantastic.
