There are so many songs by Herb Alpert that I adore but there is one that always sticks in my head, "Rise."
All the time I want to say is, WOW.
In my teenage years he collaborated with Janet Jackson which I felt was a fantastic collaboration on the songs, "Making Love in the Rain" and "Diamonds." Please check it out here:

You are talking my language! I love Herb Alpert but always confused his name with Al Hirt. Just me then, not now! Need we say anything more about "Rise"? My friend who did the Oscar Peterson announcements which I shamelessly posted (don't tell him!) loves the Alpert performance of "Rise." That says quite an awful lot for just how good Alpert is as a musician. Thanks for the treat!

@musikfriend Isn't HE AWESOME? I used to have his tunes in my head a lot when I was young. I'm pretty convinced that from watching Sesame Street all the time and having the visiting musicians on the show impressed me with all the lovely music that I hear from time to time.
