i dont know how many of you have checked out the new album by boris, but if you havent and youre into stoner rock then you definitely should. the beginning track, "parting", makes a very nice introduction to the record...starts off with only 2 guitar notes and then escalates into this beautiful colossus of noise that travels at the speed of a heartbeat. when i first heard it, i fell into a daydream and wandered off into the song for a while and then BAM, the next song blasted out of the speakers and dropkicked my brain through my ears..its intense and the rest of the record retains the beauty, speed, and raw power of the first few moments....but dont just take my word for it.
