They released the list of Grammy nominees and there were some interesting noms on there. I guess I'll watch. If they can get some of the bands I like to play that night. If it's yet another R&B/Rap lovefest, that'll blow though.

Three things that struck me about the Grammy noms: . . I still don't get all the love for Corinne Bailey Rae. Her album's nice and all, but she's got a bunch of noms, including Best Record and Best Song. Whoa.
It's nice to see Death Cab get a nomination, but they're stuck with some heavy hitters, so it feels like a cop-out nom for the hipsters, that has no chance.
Heaven help me, if Buckcherry wins, for that horribly misogynist song, I will officially lose all faith in Grammy voters.

I always watch and usually walk away from the TV with a big bruise on my head from banging it on the end table. But I learned my lesson and checked out the noms ahead of time, so that I'm not disappointed in noms AND wins/losses.
All those with female genitalia will be putting a hex on Buckcherry that night, Dale. ;)

The only thing you need to know about the Grammy Awards is this: in 1978, A Taste of Honey won Best New Artist over Elvis Costello (who was probably lucky to even be nominated.)
A...Taste...of...Honey. As in, "Boogie...Ooogie...Oogie."
Kinda like Henry Kissinger, the worst war criminal on earth, winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Well, maybe not THAT bad - but close.
