What I've been listening to lately

especially ivylander since you actually added me as one of your favs; you won't regret it. I've recently downloaded the live at Pompeii album and I'm absolutely certain this is Pink Floyds prime. Although I think most of their other stuff is fabulous, this is Pink Floyd right before they would blow the minds of many youths with their masterpiece: Dark Side of the Moon. They were young yet seasoned, famous yet aspiring, experimental yet knowledgeable about everything they pulled off.

I wouldn't call them virtuosos (David Gilmour himself has said his melodic playing was developed as a substitute for faster, more energetic playing), but they were very skilled players and it shows in their live performances. Each one of these songs is one of their greats to date, and they play them all live or live-ish.
