I accidentally ran walked into his set last year at Coachella! It was love at fist listen...buy 'The 9th Wonder'...its a great hip hop album! He makes me want to visit LA!
LA is 100% crazy, and I ask myself why I'm still living here almost every damn day. and I think there are tons of other people here who are asking themselves the same question....but people stay for some crazy reason.
Have you been a So-Cal girl all your life? I am curious how it compares to other cities...i have lived in the same town for all of my 31yrs...sadly, i can't even imagine living anywhere else!
I grew up in Seattle, but have been in LA for just over 7 years. school is what brought me here, and I guess I'm not really done learning (I know...that sounds cheesy). I've been comparing LA and Seattle since the day I moved here...but not always consciously. nothing will ever beat Seattle for me, and that is absolutely what I call home. I could draw comparisons for hours, but one of the biggest differences between here and the Northwest (and probably any other smaller city), is that the sense of community is really tough to find in LA...you have to build it around yourself instead. if you have quality people around you, then yr pretty much set. if you don't have that and don't attempt to build that community and continually contribute to it, I'm conviced this city can damn near kill you. I know, strong words. but this can be a pretty intense city. there's also a ton of shit going on 24/7, but you would never know it driving through most areas at any given time.
yeah...i can imagine LA has destroyed many a young idealist!! I am so safe and happy in my little college town...its got just enough culture without all of the big city problems...i dare say I will live here forever

nice. "come to da hood where we do the most good..." it's true, Magic owns so many places, tons within one or two miles of where I live.

I have never been to LA...I am not sure if I would like it...too many years spent in the midwest!

Take it from someone that grew up in the OC, with family in the Valley: LA's a full-on nightmare, if you don't live there.
