The song that changed my life

Posted over 4 years ago
MOG is growing so fast(which is awesome) so I like to post this song every couple of months. The first time I heard this song I was rendered speechless. And through the course of my life...the good, the bad and the ugly...this song has meant different things to me at different times, and I still lean on it when I have moments of doubt.I consider this song my mission statement. It really has become part of who I am...so don't EVER let anyone tell you that music is frivolous or a waste of time...we know so much better,

  5. Dale says AHEM Ash! :P I don't know anyone that would say something that dumb, thank goodness for them.

  7. chucky says Hahaha...Dale, I am guessing you haven't seen Talledega Nights. That's ok, because it sucks. But, I totally blame my use of "baby jesus" on that movie. Ricky Bobby said we could pray to any age Jesus we wanted and he liked the Christmas Jesus and so do I. Haha...

  8. Dale says Well, all righty then. You're right, I haven't seen Talladega Nights.

  9. SatisfiedMind614 says Dale, now you have NO reason to see it....Ashley just spoiled the only real funny moment in the movie

  10. fairportfan says The song that changed my life would be either Fairport Convention's version of *Sir Patrick Spens* or the Kinks' *Everybody's in Show-Biz*; both hit me at about the same time and started me on musical journeys that continue to this day.

  13. DaOriginalBadNewz says That song was great! I've been fighting internally over my feelings about money for some time now and this song helps me to put things in perspective. Thanks a lot. I'm going to have to check out some more of Jeff's music. This is my first time hearing him.

  14. Lizziegreeneyes says *DaOriginalBadNewz:* You really do need to seek him out - Jeff Buckley means so much to so many of us here in MOG - he was "a light that will never go out" (to quote Smiths song). *Dale & Ash:* There is the *+Infant Jesus of Prague+* He's the Baby Jesus. Haven't seen the movie - but I have seen the Infant Jesus. I consider myself far more spiritual than aligning with any specific religion, but when I stepped foot inside the Church of Our Lady Victorious, I was instantly struck with so many emotions & cried. (My Mum was raised Catholic) & while we were there they began the "English" mass. It was all so beautiful. I've found that with almost all of the cathedrals & churches I've seen in my travels abroad - I am struck instantly & become quite emotional.

  15. joeybenavides says Early morning Jeff Buckley.....thanks for that. Jeff Buckley blew my mind on a six-hour plane ride out to Hawaii. I had finally gotten around to focusing in on Grace, and I felt weights life off of my soul. Two and a half years later, that passionate voice of his still inspires me to find more and more music that moves me.....and the eternal search continues. And music is never a waste of time....if it is, then there isn't much else to this like worth going on for, and we might as well stop fussing around about it now.
