WE DO THE MASHED POTATO AND THE FUNKY CHICKEN

Ice Cream Zen

Posted over 2 years ago
I am sitting here, finishing up moving all of my beloved music over to an external hard drive(music is the ONLY thing i can be practical about) and I heard the Ice Cream man drive by for what is probably one of the last times in my life.Ah, the suburban Midwest. Kids drop what ever it is there doing and run to their folks for some loose change to by some ice cream shaped like whatever pre-teen pop culture icon is hot this year. When I was in So Cal for Coachella...I met MY ice cream man. He is this awesome blogger from LA who give away free ice cream outside of shows....he is my hero! You can check him out hereI am sure the LA moggers know this guy.He pretty much rules.Anyway, such is the circle of life...saying goodbye to one ice cream man, and hello to a new one...one month and counting til i move west, and I can't wait.PSMOG love is better than ice cream

  1. lucyintheskies says we have ice cream trucks that drive through neighborhoods sending the kids into frenzies in l.a., too. even in the more city/urban neighborhoods than in the smaller one i live in. that said, i get the sentiment...and yay for the ice cream man you noted. also, i love this song. i haven't hear it in quite some time. i sometimes forget how much i like sarah's voice and some of the simple pleasures that her music brings. i grew a bit over-saturated and tired of her music during the lilith-era, but this makes me want to dig out my copy of fumbling towards ecstasy. lucy.

  3. Rawkkiddoh says I dont care how old you get, you hear the ring an wonder right away if you have any money you can go spend on ice cream goodness. Seeing I grew up in the 80's I cant help but think of this as well.

  6. angeldawn says Even now that my daughter doesn't run for the truck, we still shout Ice Cream Truck when we hear it. I was always amazed - why did she always pick the treat with the most unappetizing colors and those gumball eyes that were too hard to bite? Purple & black Powerpuff Girl never tasted as good as a simple chocolate & vanilla sandwich. Sarah Mc's voice takes me to a porch, summer night, star gazing. Good Enough from that same album is so amazing.
