The chills hit me before the vocals did...Sam Beam has done it again. Listening to the new album 'The Shepherd's Dog' right now and loving every song...

  3. that1guy says I'm still really on the fence with this album. It's such a different sound that I'm having a hard time swallowing it. There is a lot going on instrumentally, which is somewhat of a new thing outside of his colab with Calexico. A lot of voice distortion. I'm so use to him and a guitar or two or a banjo and sometimes his wife singing. I do like the album, but it won't be my favorite. Or maybe it will after I listen to it a little more and deeper since I've mostly put it on in the background at work. My favorite tracks so far are: Boy with a Coin and White Tooth Man Having a hard time with: Wolves and Devil Never Sleep

  4. Mike the Knife says I am totally into this track, Blair. Only tuned in to them initially because of their contribution to the "Garden State" soundtrack, but have been impressed by most of what I've heard since - and this is no exception.

  8. Marigold says I was a little dissapointed with the record on the first listen, but I had it more as background music the first listen. When I sat down and really listened to it..it just really started to make sense. This cd is about the layers and layers of music and texture nothing over done...and everything is in its right place. This is a great headphones or crank on the stereo cd.

  9. tybees says I am totally digging this record. And it was a pleasant surpise seeing as I had no idea a new record was coming out. Anticipation tends to kill the buzz sometimes, so it was nice to have ??no?? expectations, y'know :)
