WE DO THE MASHED POTATO AND THE FUNKY CHICKEN

There are no mistakes....only happy accidents

Posted over 2 years ago
One of the most satisfying parts of my transformation from miserable office drone to super happy music blogger has been taking the time to thank all of the people who encouraged me along the way. People like Bob Ross.I am not sure if Bob has much of a following out side of midwest or not, but he was HUGE in my house. During my summer vacations i would veg out and watch PBS all day long...and i was always amazed at how this neo-hippie could go from a blank canvas to a beautiful landscape painting in about 15 minutes. I remember recoiling in horror when I thought he was messing up his beautiful picture, only to be amazed moments later as he deftly brought it all together. Bob definitely had life figured out. Find what it is you love, and do that for rest of your life. Thanks Bob...may you rest in peace... you made a huge difference while you were here...even if it took 20 years to sink in. This one is for Bob and everyone else who gets it.

  8. gympumpkin says He was so awesome! When I watched on PBS there was also another guy who did that, he had some sort of European accent, but I don't remember his name. He said a lot of the same things, like happy trees and stuff.

  13. Shud33 says I love the happy little trees! Yeah, he rocked. Here is a confession from my earlier years...I used to stand infront of the mirror with my crayons and paper (I didn't have a canvas or paint) and pretend to do what Bob Ross did. He was so talented! Great post! Have a happy little Friday!

  14. SatisfiedMind614 says Hahaha....that was the best part...Bob thought EVERYONE at home was painting along with him! He would always tell you what colors you needed for that days paintings...for as long as I live I will always smile when I hear 'titanium white'....oh, and remember when he would clean the brush by rapping it against the easel...that always made him laugh

  15. annieander says Just this a.m. I was listening to Patton Oswald, and he goes off on a tangent on Bob Ross. What a co-inky-dink. His soothing voice, Bob's not Patton's, was a mainstay on Saturday morning...just after the cartoons and coco pebbles ran dry.
