Blair's farewell tour....stop 4

Posted over 4 years ago
Going to see The National at another of my favorite venues this Saturday night, The Basement. As the name implies, it is a super small, wonderfully intimate venue. If you guys don't have the latest National record, Boxer, you are missing out on some great morose, brooding pop. Interesting note about these guys, they are originally from Cincinnati and relocated to Brooklyn...once again proving to me that I am doing the right thing by leaving the midwest!

  1. Me and the Horse I Rode In On says The job is not that hard since it's just an ipod mini. I just thought about it. I deleted everything today and chose only to add the albums I haven't had time to listen to...............National, Kings of Leon, Cocorosie, Coconut Records, White Stripes, Jason Collett, Modest Mouse, Nina Nastasia, Voxtrot........................the list goes on. See the picture?

  4. Me and the Horse I Rode In On says That is a fine album. Lucky man. I wanna see them. Today I listened to White Stripes, Kings of Leon and The National. They all had your name written all of them. Somehow you control my ipod which is kinda scary.

  6. msquared64 says loving the National, Blair, you're lucky to see them, I'm very jealous..... and Henry, what do you think about Coconut Records? I just got a couple tracks, I have to say I'm impressed by Mr. Schwartzman... and I got the Voxtrot cd as well, need to give it a few more listens, but so far so good.

  7. Me and the Horse I Rode In On says I agree. I am impressed with Coconut Records. The song West Coast gets under my skin. He's got a great voice. I just hate these talented people who can do everything. Those kind of people who choses to drive their cars to LA and make things happen. I've heard about this guy from Ohio who's doing just that. People in Hollywood are already talking about him being the next action hero.

  8. Sean Balanger says I'll be seeing them tonight in Cincinnati and if the venue is as big as I think it is it will be nice to then see them in the venue that is as small as you say it is. If I see you there, you'll be the first MOG stranger I'll have met, so lucky you.

  12. Sean Balanger says I hope California works better for you. I was just thinking about how things in my life might change if I moved somewhere far away like California. I wish I had the balls to just do that. Maybe a few more years at home, though, won't hurt. Eventually I know I'll have to get out of here, but right now I can't even imagine trying it. Blown up condoms. Ha, you're lucky to be getting out of there alive.
