The Hootie phenomenon

Posted over 2 years ago
This is what I call that magical thing that happens when an um believably average band has ALL the stars align for them and they, even if only for a summer, where the biggest band on the planet. I hope they enjoyed it...talk about winning the Rock N Roll lottery! And now I will undo what ever musical credibility I had with all of you by posting Hootie covering Led Zeppelin

  1. msquared64 says imagine if they tried to cover "Whole Lotta Love" instead??? Or even worse, "Immigrant Song?" ......................................... by the way, I had the Encomium album too, mostly because of STP's cover of "Dancing Days..." hey, we've all gotta start somewhere right?

  7. dangerpilot says hahahaha. this is hilarious. last weekend my friend and i were discussing the phenomenon of nickelback. someone came into my store the other day wearing a nickelback shirt, and i couldn't help but think, 'who actually spends the money on a nickelback shirt and then actually WEARS it in public??' we equated this to if someone owned & wore a hootie shirt, but also agreed that at this point it would just be ironic hilarity to wear a hootie shirt so i'm on the hunt for one. :)

  9. chucky says haha, I lived in SC when Hootie hit the big time. I don't remember ever meeting anyone who liked them and vividly remember a girl who was *enraged* that they came from SC.
