I never ceased to be amazed at how good songwriters have that uncanny ability to take situations that everyone has gone through in their life and put a fresh spin on it, set it to a 4 minute piece of music, and leave me awestruck. Take this Bernard Fanning song for instance...A favorite lyric from this one:"I looked deep into the heart of you...its a mesmerizing view"

What an amazing song by one of the best singer/songwriters. Been following Powderfinger since Double Allergic (1996?). Wasn't hugely into them as I thought Bernard's voice needed improvement but I reckon it has improved one million fold along with the quality of his songs. I also delivered curry to his house in Paddington (Brisbane) one night and he is a top bloke. Also one of the best live acts around.
