THE MUSIC BLOGGING HIVE MIND

It was good living with you, but...

Posted over 2 years ago
My old roommate Jason was the best house mate you could ever want. EVER. We were just different enough to get along, but alike enough to be able to go out and have a good time. Plus I worked during the day and went to school during the night, and he did just the opposite...so we hardly saw each other. But gift giving was never his forte. On year on my birthday he gave me a pair of tickets to see one of those 'Scooby Doo LIve!' shows...you know the ones made for like 5 yr olds. It was so weird...I think maybe we got high once or twice and watched Scooby Doo or something, i can't remember...but why in the world would he get a 25yr old guy tickets to that? I felt obligated to go...so i took him, I think to this day he wanted to go and that is why he gave me that gift. Anyway, it was probably the most uncomfortable 90 minutes of my life...we were the only two people there without kids and I am sure everyone there thought we were only there to abduct a kid or two. And the 'show' was horrendous!! I mean it was aimed at 4 yr olds, how could it not be bad...Such a weird gift...anyway, I heard this song tonight and thought of that....among the millions of reasons I love music, its ability to make me reminisce over totally random experiences in my life is why i love it the best...

  6. iketheclerk says That's crazy. Kinda nutty crazy, on the verge of the creepy but I feel your pain. My roommate's brother wanted to go see a movie and so I went not knowing what it was. I think we may be tied. Muppet Treasure Island made me want to stab my eyes out with the straw of my large coke.
