Andy Warhol was right...

Everybody will be famous for 15 minutes. As i clicked over to CNN to make sure that we haven't illegally invaded any other countries since I last checked, i couldn't help but to notice their 'EXCLUSIVE' interview with the 'stylist' who shaved Britney's head.Speaking of heads, mine hurts...and speaking of Andy Warhol, I will let Lou Reed take you the rest of the way home with what I consider to be one of the greatest songs ever written, I am still waiting for most of the pop music world to catch up to the Velvet Underground.

  1. Lester Jonze says That is a great song. And my favorite Velvets album.

  2. Hmmm says I've noticed that the Velvet Underground is just one of those bands that instantly makes you cool if you have them in your collection. It's obvious why...

  3. SatisfiedMind614 says that's the Lou Reed factor...

  5. fairportfan says Actually, the way the article i posted an excerpt from said that she grabbed the clipper and did it herself... And, in the spirit of the punk surf song i only heard once twenty-odd (some of them *very* odd) years ago, that said "if there's two girls for every boy, some son-of-a-bitch got four...". Look - there's George W. Bush, famous for eight years - what happened to the 560,640 *other* people whose rightful fifteen minutes he stole?

  7. deadmandeadman says HMMMM.........cool comes from within. What you listen to is irrelavent. Very interesting, but irrelavent.

  8. fairportfan says Yah - but if you listen to cool stuff, it indicates you have coll insaid, no? Or at least good media advisers.

  9. BrandNewSumthing says Cool does come from within... If you're lucky enough to be cool inside. If not, then listening to some VU will certainly help you appear to be cool on the outside. (As will shaving your head, apparently.) I've recently fallen in love with the song "Lou Reed" by The Little Willies. It's wonderful.

  10. fairportfan says Ahh! Something else i meant to add to that last comment - Michelle Shocked quote someone who ought to know - Count Basie? Duke Ellington? can't remember, dammit - on her *Captain Swing* album:
Swing is a feeling. Everything else is just style.

  11. RGM says Never got the A.W. thing, of course never really paid much attention to Andrew. From what I remember besides the hippy, viet war, assination of Martin Luther King J.R., and the Health Looking, but strickin with Addison's Disease JFK. It was a great set up and transitional period for the Greatest Country in the entire land mass between the Canadian And Mexican Boder, God Bless Ya' Buck E' Under Roo's!

  12. fairportfan says Personally, i thought Warhol was the second-biggest fake in art at the time; only one bigger was Lichtenstein, who took panels from 50's comic books without permission or credit, blew 'em up to like six feet high without changing a line or dot, and then called it "Art" and made big money off it.

  17. donia says It's true. I had my 15 minutes of fame about four years ago when I was on a reality makeover show. Despite the fact that I don't care for reality shows, I had alot of fun doing it and would do it again. I also milked it for all it was worth by writing articles about my experience for several newspapers and e-zines. Fun AND profit!!
