WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

I'm going to where there's no depression

Posted over 2 years ago
Two reasons for this post. One, I have seen a serious shortage of love on mog for Uncle Tupelo, the seminal alt-country band of the late 80's/early 90's. And the second reason, I just wanted to use the word 'seminal' in a post. All the cool music writers use it, and I never have. To tell you the truth it didn't do much for me,But I do love Uncle Tupelo...so here are two songs, one fronted by Jay Farrar and one by Jeff Tweedy...because I am nothing if not fair

  16. jimmybearpearson says This is GOOD stuff! Thanks for the pointer. I listened to tons of music similar to this when I lived in the mountains of North Carolina... after a concert or festival, everybody's thighs would be sore (from patting and slapping with the rhythm).

  20. soda says Jeff! Jay! Jay! Jeff! Ah, the halcyon early days of alt.country. Bought Anodyne the same day as Brooklyn Side by The Bottle Rockets and a Mavericks CD. Remember when it was going to be the next big thing? Ha.
