WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

I am not usually one for hyperbole, but I think this is the best song in the history of recorded music...EVER!

And I can not be swayed in my opinion..although you may feel free to attempt to persuade me otherwise.

  1. chucky says You may not be one for hyoerbole but you are certainly one for hyperbole. (Couldn't resist, I'm sorry.) It *is* a beautiful song. So beautiful and so beloved that I have almost no feeling for it at all - if that makes sense.

  3. chucky says Well, for example, my mother wanted me to play it at my wedding. But, I thought about how many people probably played it at their wedding and it lost it's luster, it's specialness. It can't be mine because it belongs to too many people.

  5. mktackabery says would never do such a thing. I do think too many people play it at their wedding. Who really listens to it . . . damn what a voice.

  7. ScottyB says I was prepared to try to convince you otherwise, but the crescendo of the opening chorus coupled with the Audrey Hepburn montage wiped any of the songs that I was prepared to counter with completely from my mind...I love Audrey Hepburn - she had to have been the most elegant and truly beautiful person ever to have graced this vale of tears... I was actually watching My Fair Lady the day that she died - The movie ended and we flipped over to CNN and there it was...Very sad day... Lovely song - Hyperbole entirely justified...

  10. Manos says This is indeed a wonderful song. You're in my favorite neighborhood right now - I love the female jazz singers. If you already have a bunch and this is your favorite, very cool. If you like this but don't have more (and if you're interested) I'll toss up a Multiply mix. And dear god in heaven there has never been a woman as beautiful (in every way) as Audrey Hepburn. Watching Roman Holiday makes me ache.

  15. ScottyB says Sorry, but I have to tell you that I haven't been able too get this song since you posted it - I've probably listened to it 30 times since... Hepburn & James - a potent mix...
