When a song starts out THIS good, you know you are hooked...So i showed you mine...now what are your favorite opening lines from songs you love?

  3. Dale says Hmm, tough one. Usually, it's the opening notes that capture me, like the spiraling guitar line and chimes at the beginning of "Lorelei" by the Cocteau Twins. As for lyrics, though, the only thing I can think of is the "You gotta keep 'em separated" hook from "Come Out And Play" by the Offspring.

  5. carrymeohio says "signal got lost in the satellite / got lost in the / rideup to the / plunge down" -- soul coughing, "true dreams of wichita" the whole song is just pregnant with this very twisted, nonsensical imagery. my favorite line is probably "and you can stand / on the arms / of the Williamsburg Bridge crying / hey man, well this is Babylon." gets me every time. nice choice, by the way.
