   RobP says Don't know em, but Mitch Ryder did a GREAT version of When U Were Mine, right around the time everyone assumed Mitch's voice was shot. I think it's better than the Prince version, but I think it's also on an album otherwise not worth owning. So, should I be googling Crooked Fingers about now or do ya have a link?

   d0gstar says yeah I like what I have heard of them. Thing is, a friend of mine who really likes the Mountain Goats turned me on to Crooked Fingers, too. So, since I didn't really *like* the Mountain Goats (some whiny voices just grate on me), I had a little trouble giving a fair shot to Crooked Fingers. If you get a chance, check out Archers of Loaf too. Eric Bachmann's first band to make it sorta big, at least for Merge standards. I think they just rereleased their album Vee Vee.

   stopbreathingnow says the first time i ever heard Crooked Fingers was when i downloaded his cover of Prince. that version of the song always gets me choked up. i've heard a little more, but never found myself in the mood enough to get an entire album.
